Cecilia's Escape

16-year-old Cecilia's father is killed during an outbreak of xenophobic violence in Johannesburg, South Africa. Her close-knit Congolese family is devastated and the loss creates tension in their home. Cecilia is on a path of self-discovery and intends on living life on her own terms and must find the courage to live her truth even though it means going against her mother's wishes.
