A Black Jesus

This is the portrait of a small troubled town on the south coast of Sicily, where boats with refugees have been landing for a long time, and a former luxury hotel has been converted into a reception center. A black Jesus looks down from the cross onto the local population and the migrants alike: a palpable metaphor for the current state of Europe.
